-Quick Deep-Sky and Quick Star documents are gone. The performance advantage that they offered over the Advanced versions had become insignificant.
-Sort By tab on Deep-Sky, Star, Comet Search and Asteroid Search documents is gone.
-Sorting is done now by clicking in the heading cell of a column of data. A light gray chevron is displayed indicating the sorting direction of the column (i.e., ascending or descending.) You can still specify sorting on multiple columns.
-Active Area is gone. Now Location comboboxes in documents contain every location in the database rather than those in an active area.
-The term Minor Planet has been changed to Asteroid.
-Options | Data Formatting Properties and Options | New Document Properties have been replaced by Options | Preferences.
-Options | Report Formatting Properties is gone. Now displaying or hiding columns of data is done in each report. Use the Customize button on report windows to turn on and off columns for display.
-Options | Font and Options | Color are gone. These have been replaced by Options | Report Styles.
-Options | Compact Database has been moved to the File menu.
-The equipment browser menu items (e.g., Instrument Browser) on the Observing Log menu have been moved to a new menu, Equipment/Observer.
-Document (file) formats have changed. Search and ephemeris calculation documents from version 4 cannot be read by version 5.
-Observing Log information can be moved from version 4 database into version 5 database by using the Migrator. Please see Help in the Migrator.
